I don't think Obama fully realizes how many lives he's putting on hold.
There just aren't enough faces and stories on the forefront that injects some more humanity into our cause.

Right now, it's mostly just facts and figures. We're too scared [or at least I am] to go out to public and say, "I'm illegal, Obama, and here's my story. Now tell me what I'm supposed to do with my life as you keep putting off immigration reform."

i almost feel that ex-dreamies could be super beneficial. for the ones that have left, their story could be of opportunity lost for the US (lost tax revenue for the cold hearted). for those that have gotten legalized one way or another, their story is one of triumph and what one can achieve when given an opportunity. i guess the thing is that i dont know too many ex-dreamies. it's like they either leave or get legalized and then they just carry on with their lives. =[ if i get my u-visa before anything happens with the dream act, i'll be sure to help out as much as i can. it's a shame that we're easily forgotten. i wish it wasn't that way.

Whether they leave or adjust their status they're all of the sudden thrown into this whole new lifestyle and they are either facing new challenges (marriage, helping family, new careers, etc) or trying to do what they've not been able to do for so long (travel, continue school, etc). I know a few ex DREAMies some adjusted through marriage and some just had their number called up and adjusted, some still help some but limited with their new commitments. It may seem easy to ask why they don't come back but life gets in the way yet I think they should still come back especially right now that DREAM is gathering new momentum. There is the calling and faxing but how else can they help? I do what I can when I can so just looking for feedback on this? Should we share our story on DA.org? hmm.

I don't see how he is putting our lives on hold, sure living without papers sucks and makes things very difficult, but on the other hand, this is America, the land of opportunities.

People die at the border just trying to get here. They do it because they know in this land you can reach any dream if you're willing to work hard for it. And we, as "americans" as we are, have forgotten that.

Many have said we, dreamers, are the "brightest, and most gifted", now it is time to demonstrate it.

Don't wait for a bill that may or may not come out, just go out and start living. Remember, after all Obama is just another politician; which means we can't really trust anything coming out of his mouth.

Yes Juang I guess it's not necessarily putting lives on hold to the full extent of the phrase but not moving forward with the DREAM Act sets a low glass ceiling for ALL DREAMies. Its like having a really fast dog tied up in the nicest backyard of them all...he's still living ok and perhaps better than alot of other dogs but he's not given the chance to be the champion he can be. Sorry if this anology insults anyone.

Just saw on the news that Obama cancelled his meeting with mayors so immigration people aren't the only ones feeling snubbed. Well, we have our new meeting on the 25th and hopefully, it's not cancelled again and it goes well.

I think we are getting a little off topic with this discussion. But I think it is fine as long as we don't get frustrated with each other and start calling out names.

I understand your point of view, however, I guess it is that kind of mentality what keep some of us in a negative mindset. To put it in simple English, you see the glass half empty while I look at it half full.
