Smuggo,

Life is not fair. What would you like the US government to do with us? Deport all illegal aliens? Everyone that is working on immigration reform as we speak agrees that those that are here illegally must get in the back of the line. I do not agree that we are talking anything from those that are legal. To be honest there is no way for any of us to get a work authorization permit unless we commit fraud "marriage"....many dreamers are against it. Many legals.....became legal that way. Is that right? So those that are doing it the legal way do have a upper hand? Please do not blame the "illegals" for anything that have to do with the "legals".

The DREAM ACT is a civil rights bill. It is about helping humanity be better in my opinion. I fully support any bill that would motivate people to further their education. Regardless Immigration reform will be a heavy debate after the summer break. I shall sit back and enjoy the show. There is no way I am going to believe that 09/10 is not the time for change. Smuggo, live long and prosper!

Well, that's not the case. Room in state universities is in high demand, and there is very limited space.
You dont have unlimited room because of something called a selective process. I am about to tell you a secret, state schools still compete to be ranked high. Its as easy as that. Schools do have a budget they want to maintain. And there is near unlimited room, its called a community college.

I haven't said that children of illegals should go back home. I'm for finding a solution for them that involves staying here too. But automatic citizenship through going to college is not the right way to do it. It's not fair to so many others who deserve it more. I am not for divying up seats for state colleges purely on the basis of who performs best academically either. There are plenty of great students who deserve it more and if they get one less "A" than an illegal kid, then big woop. They're citizens, they come first. I think you should know, however, that illegal high school students get significantly worse grades and have higher dropout rates than do legal students. Food for thought.
There are more than just going to school. You also have to be an upstanding person of near flawless record. A system which punishes immigrants far harsher than a normal citizen. I think that is a fair and just way.

College is not the only way to get on the path of citizenship. You can also join the military for 2 years, so your whole reasoning on "One less A" holds no water. 2nd, its a PATH to citizenship, which would mean the person would be a residents but must have a clean record for the next 5 years, which mixed in with the penalties being far harsher for immigrants is a very tight rope to be on. Lets take your HS students get worse grades and say its true, do you also know they would get no financial assistance of any kind for there family, and must work jobs, of which most are out of there hand. Its far more complex than saying just saying they get worse grades.

Enough legal immigrants do it when they come here. My dad was born in Germany. He came here with his parents, his brother, and his sister when he was 9. They were all legal, and they flew here alone and learned the language. Difficult as it may be, you *do* have a choice when you turn 18 and become aware that you are illegally staying here when you know it is not your country. The choices suck either way you go, but you had the choice all the same. You chose the illegal way. You are not somehow owed citizenship and school for doing that. Sorry.
Wow, the time i wasted on replying to you. What a waste, your colors are showing.

Haha. In 2007, DA failed, then the smooth talk(obama) came in and we were mended to think its going to get done in 2009. Wow, look its 2009 and by what the Gov, White house, senators, news is saying...blah blah blah that 2010 is the the year its going to pass. Great, in 2010 they will promise 2011...because this is america, and then election and campaign starts....when they do nothing but argue and debate.... nothing is going to get done in 2012, and then they will say 2013 is the year its going to pass. In 2013 i expect the same crap and lies.

I'm done watching over this Dream Act, the title even says it. DREAM.I'm done watching the news or anything related about this fake stuff.Keep dreaming, I'm done dreaming. I'm getting outta here, I'm done. I'ma stand up for myself and not wait for a higher authority to give me rights and justice.

Fight within the system, not against it.

Please, this message just tells you what i feel. I personally am, done Dreaming. YOU OUT THERE, DON'T STOP. Keep going, keep fighting, I'm just a person who's really annoyed and fed up with bs.

Good luck fellas, i know how it feels to be treated without equality...i don't wish anyone to feel like we do.

Can everyone just please stop replying to smuggo's posts!

His mind is set...No point debating!

With so many opportunities and possibilities that come along with citizenship you would think he would employ his time elsewhere in more efficient and valuable manner; work, school,g-friend, military, family etc.
