School Fees

I currently pay $20 dollars per fee at my community college in California. However, I just got an email that they will be raising the fee cost starting this fall. They dont know the estimate of the new fee but they said between $26-60. Of course they say its because of the state budget or something like that.

When I first started attending the original fee was $26 but then it went down to $20 so I hope that they dont ask for an exaggerated fee.

There have been a number of recent proposals by legislators to increase this fee and the proposed increases vary from $26 to 60 per unit, with an increase to $26 per unit effective for the 2009 fall semester being the most likely scenario for 2009-10.

At this time we are not sure of the amount of the increase or when it will be implemented. Please be aware that these additional fees will be applied to your account upon this proposal passing.

Yea at PCC the unit price will be $26.

$20 per unit??? that is insanely cheap. I am paying $95 per unit in my community college in NJ. and it's also in-county rate.

I'm paying about $180 in-county per credit x.x
