We're now at 80 cosponsors (81 total with chief sponsor).

Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA 09). Sen. Inouye (D-HI) has also cosponsored the Dream Act.

^^ I think we have almost passed the support the bill garnered in 2007.

Yes, I will try to get it up later today.

I was actually thinking about halting this thread, and making one with a focus on CIR, since that is obviously the direction we are headed for now, but I am not sure.

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Nick put up a House vote database on Dream here. 82 people are accounted for including the 80 cosponsors, 1 chief sponsor, and the Speaker who are all yes.

If anyone has info on the other Rep. positions on Dream, please feel free to post it on this thread.

thanks, as for stopping this and focusing just on CIR, i dont feel like that would be the best idea right now, i dont want them to think that we can be appeased by hopes of just passing the CIR later, because that will be another major struggle, and they will just push it off and say "oh well we'll get to the dream later when the cir comes around" i think we should continue to push DREAM to make sure they know what a strong priority it is, and how important it is for it to pass NOW. That is what we want and that is what we need. As for CIR i believe we should push for that at the same time as the dream. It may be a little more work to do both but again i dont want them to think we'll just settle for hopes of CIR later, that just makes it easier for them to push it off and forget. Lets keep this strong

For them to continue to hear our voice they need to continue to hear the words I SUPPORT THE DREAM act, its everyday talk these days, lets not stop that yet

who'se next!

So, for next week, I am going to add a list of House members to target for August. Our goal is getting more than 100 cosponsors in the House by the August recess. Getting senators to cosponsor is more difficult, so I will wait a little while to see what is the best time way to do so.

August Recess Targets

Rep Andrews, Robert E. [NY-1]

Rep Gillmor, Paul E. [OH-5]

Rep Green, Al [TX-9]

Rep Hastings, Alcee L. [FL-23]

Rep Hirono, Mazie K. [HI-2]

Rep Kucinich, Dennis J. [OH-10]

Rep Lantos, Tom [CA-12]

Rep Norton, Eleanor Holmes [DC]

Rep Sires, Albio [NJ-13]

Rep Wynn, Albert Russell [MD-4]

Will post contact information in the coming days.

sounds good i missed the sound of your voice, (NH of course), hahaha jkjk but yeah lets keep this moving, oh yeah i got a reply from 3 not sure if they were accounted for yet prolly but just in case not heres what mattered of the letter

Patrick Lehay nothing on dream act but seems to give some positive support CIR
"Those who have been living and working in the United States, who are contributing to their communities and whose only transgression was coming to the United States to seek a better life without authorization, deserve a chance to pay their debts and come out of the shadows."

Jeff Merkley
"I support the DREAM Act. As a father of two children, I believe that every student deserves the opportunity to attend college and achieve his or her full potential...I believe that the DREAM Act is a constructive step towards building a stronger national economy and maintaining America's success in an increasingly competitive global marketplace. "

Arlen Specter - well he had Dream act in the subject but instead his reply was just a complete chickenwalk around where he just said what he's done for eductaiton instead :/ maybe its cus i sent that letter under education so thats prolly not a good idea its just flooded with random teachers/moms and the like so i dont think they really read those as much

so yeah lets get it started again, im like colbert i need to finish my 100 part series better email a sentor and my 437 part serries better email a district, lets put em up on the big board
