Got a quick question. If I have a VALID Government Issued DL, can I fly anywhere domestically? Like:

From Albuquerque, New Mexico to DFW Airport in Texas?

I heard there is undercover CBP/ICE agents, is that true?

If at anytime you are targeted it is most likely racial profiling. I have traveled from NYC to FL to NV to CA to Hawaii and back and never ever has anyone asked my status. Do not fear. Every airport is different but the law simply states that if you have an official government issued ID you can travel domestically. I am so sorry to hear that anyone is afraid. The security at the airport for domestic flights aren't scary either. I do hate the fact I have to take my shoes, belt, jewelry and shoes off but it is for our protection. Search your airline website too for more info on ID's.

Also my advice might mean nothing to your situation because illegal immgration is different in NYC than NM than FL so it may depend on anything else why they would stop you.

didn't you already ask this question elsewhere? stop freaking out...and more importantly stop freaking others out! I'm flying out of Newark to Milwaukee in 2 weeks. Wanna come see how not to look like you're guilty of a crime?

Ok. Seriously. Get your ticket. Put it right beneath ID and hand both over. Look nice. Friendly, but not chatty. Look whomever it is straight in the eye. Then say "thank you" after you get them back and move on.

It's not always racial profiling. My husband is white and on our trip back to Oklahoma from FL, he was selected for a pat down. I handed the guy my boarding pass first and was about to get on the plane when I noticed my husband wasn't next to me, so I walked back and saw a guy patting him down. I don't know why he was selected.. he thought it was kind of funny that they found him supicious, especially since he's a military cop.

I was just glad it wasn't me because I probably would've freaked out.

i have traveled form MIA to NYC, BOSTON, and DFW. I often go to DFW because that is where my bf lives. just hand the security man/woman your boarding pass along with your ID, they will use some flashlight to make sure your DL/ passport is not a fake, and sign your boarding pass and let you go along your way. if the metal detector goes off, as it has happened to me a hundred times, they will pat you down but not ask you for an ID or question you. Sometimes they will have homeland security people checking IDs again rightBEFORE boarding the plane as well as selecting peole to chekc their luggage, but just as beore give them your id and boarding pass, don't be nervous , dont be fearful bc it is only then theat they will think you are up to something.
