doubt it would work for a job, but bank of america accepted my ITIN number along with my foreign passport for a credit card, just not a large amount but something is something.

Not yet but we are working on it. We need a religion that believes SSN's are evil and a paster from that church to sign the form. :/

Can't it be any religion? I mean, wouldnt just having a paper signed by the minister be good enough?

ok... then lets register the church, we just need to determine why we are to think that social security numbers are evil. For that I suggest looking at churches in illinois that are against SSN and their reasoning.

but really, what would stop someone from making their own religion, what are the requirements. We are in a country with a multitude of religions and some which apparently have only a few members. I mean there is one that is famous in Texas for having people dancing with poisonous snakes, as for churches, eehh, don't think that will be the biggest problem, there is actually a website that helps you register with the government and FBI:
http://www.startchurch.com/?gclid=CN...FRKIxwodaWyCaw

I doubt many people would want to go through the lengthy process, and probably expensive, in order to get a driver's license when there is increasing talk and support by key individuals for a different more legal solution, that is more permanent.

*thinks of the areas with highest church density*
In Miami at least, this predominantly haitian/caribbean community is cited as having the largest numbers of churches, at over 1000, almost 3-5 for every square block meeting in open fields, actual churches, I think I saw one in a pool hall, houses and maybe places that serve as stores during certain times of the day.

If a church can take place in such a variety of settings, then registering a church can't be rocket science or impossible. I know, I know, it is Florida, not Illinois, but maybe the difference is not that extravagant. I recall going on my way to campus in Chicago and seeing posters on stop lights that talked about this religion that praised che guevara (ok, we can't say for certain it was not a joke, but on my way there I was stopped by this lady in nice clothes that handed me a paper and started explaining me about a religion she was part of, did not pay attention, she seemed scary dressed so nice on such a hot day)
