you know the way im looking at it is things happen. Trust me, i want this to pass so bad too. i will start my second year at a freaking expensive private university and just thinking about graduation bring a certain doubt.

But also think about it. look at all the things that everyone here has accomplished. Even going to college or staying here while living in the shadows is an amazing accomplishment. we must look at it like that. If you really want it then fight for it with all of your being, instead of expecting it to come easily. the government should be afraid of us instead of us afraid of them. There are around 14 million of us. Imagine if everyone did a little to pass this. Imagine 14 million people marching or sending a letter to politicians! the outcome would be amazing!

Someone once told me, "Everyone who is successful fought for it and never lost sight of their dreams" (well except for paris hilton, and we all know how that turned out)

i wont leave because this is my country. I will continue to fight for this, because i believe in it. Every time that i cant go out with my friends because lack of an ID or driving extra carefully so i dont get pulled over, i want this even more!

I understand that some people have been waiting for a very long time. I completely understand that, because i have been waiting since i was two years old, but we cant loose faith. Think about it: how long did it take Che Guevara to accomplish what he set out to do? It wasnt easy for him at all all!

So i leave you with words from him: "Better to die standing, than to live on your knees"

That was probably the smartest idea I've heard here.
I'm dead serious. Can anyone think of a way to get it? Do you guys think she's even aware of this?

There have been threads on the issue of getting Oprah's attention. I doubt Oprah would sway Congress to do something though...

This is unreal. People's lives are at stake and it's being delayed again. Obama mentioned DREAM during a primary debate with Clinton as something that can be dealt with right away, but now he's dead silent about it. Why is energy a higher priority than immigration reform or DREAM for this year? What lives are immediately at risk because of cap-and-trade?

We have to bombard Durbin, Schumer, Reid, Pelosi, and Obama with letters and phone calls asking that DREAM be brought up THIS YEAR as a stand-alone. It would take less than a week to debate and vote on. If it fails again, then I'll wait for comprehensive reform next year, but this is ridiculous.

Even Lindsay Graham was quoted on the WSJ as saying that if immigration reform isn't approached soon, the chance might be lost for a generation. Sure. We will wait another 20 years (NOT).

I also want immigration reform but we have to be realistic about the issues of health care, energy, the economy, the two overseas occupations and the Guantanamo Bay camp closures and many issues.

That's a lot of issues and perhaps that's why immigration reform hasn't been brought up yet.

Some waiting can't be that bad.
