Some Lawyers Are Said to Prey on Illegal Immigrants

Advocates for immigration rights say they are seeing an increase in unscrupulous lawyers who lure immigrants with false promises of green cards.

Personally, I think ALL these "unscrupulous" lawyers should be jailed, stripped of their legal status, and then deported. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Because, when they screw up applications, the client gets deported, and then what? Right. Nothing. They'll back in their native country and can't come back. Then, the family has to contact the authorities and take action. So go after the lawyers who screw up and punish them severely. There should be NO place for mistrust when it comes to the law and legal practice.

A "lawyer" is the only reason my family and I have been undocumented for the past 17 F********* yearssss!!

This "lawyer" had never even passed the bar, and his friend was letting him work in his office under his bar number. A few years later we found out he hadn't filed anything and the 911 happened and he left the U.S. and went back to his country.

i feel for you sadgirl. my parents were lied to also, by many including employers and lawyers. My dad has been here for as long as you! It really sucks...hopefully immigration reform will pass. If not, screw everyone, im coming to america on a visa (because i left last year on my 18th bday) and I will just be there for the money. Its easy to manipulate an american man. And I will do it to get a greencard. They will never know. since your there you can try to marry a man. Be irresistable.

This isn't shocking. This happened to my dad years and years ago, and is the main reason we have been undocumented all of this time. It's pathetic, these people are trash and deserve the karma the get.

True, men can be manipulated but I don't think you can manipulate someone for at least 2 years str8 without him having a clue. Unless you probably have to screw him like a mad man that he no longer remembers himself or doesn't care. Also be careful who you try to manipulate, there are some crazy folks out there. Not everyone will take it likely.

SAME here.....as much as it started to work out (getting some documentation) there was just no follow through. This guy was jailed though, and horrible thigns happened to him nonetheless.

agree with this opinion,this is crime,this is rapes hiding from behind the dirty law suit
