I'm applying as a transfer student for the Fall of 2010. My transfer school list includes MIT, Brown, Cornell, Harvey Mudd, RPI, among others...unfortunately my state doesn't have in-state tuition, so I'm looking at private institutions that would finance my tuition etc.

as far as grades and stuff, I graduated top 2% (in a class of 1000) in high school, passed all the AP exams blah blah...

In college I've kept a 4.0 (out of a 4.0 scale) and I'm involved in several activities i'm really passionate about ...photography and grassroots activism.

are any of you transferring for the fall of 2010?

In general, some schools may or may not accept applications from undocumented immigrant students (speaking from personal experience) and MIT is one of them.
really?? I am applying to MIT this fall as a regular decision since international students can not apply early can you further explain what you were saying.

Dact: I am applying as a junior transfer for fall 2010. I don't exactly have an amazing high school record. I was a B average student. I am currently attending my CC and have kept a 3.9 GPA out of a 4.0, I work part-time and i'm trying to get involved in my school activities. I am planning on applying to schools such as: Smith, Mount Holyoke, Amherst, BU, UCLA, and a few more.

Are you applying as a Junior?

Later on in the topic, buckminsterfullerene said his application was accepted and we dismissed it as a possible miscommunication.

Yes, I read that. But seeing the actual website is also helpful.

withchemicals, you're right. MIT doesn't accept apps from undocumented folks.

Just on a side note...Just because an institution gives tons of aids to international students, it doesn't necessarily mean it will help one of us, they have an actual visa, and we don't. Just something to keep in mind.

that was my situation as well... I applied, got an interview they accepted everything... but, then again I got rejected, and my search on google did not turn up anyone that may be in our situation attending that school, I however feel like I heard of a case in the media (t.v. news channel) of an undocumented student that got a full ride to MIT...that news is however rather old, I was probably in the middle of high school back then if not just starting...
