The main problem I'm having (and I'm assuming a lot of people have), is WHO and WHERE to call. There are so many numbers! and particularly in my state, Washington, my two representatives and senators ALREADY support the dream act. It's the southern republican loonies that are holding passage of this bill back. Calling DHS helps, but I'm guessing they are getting good at ignoring faxes/emails/letters, etc. And many legislators are very hard to directly contact- they only give constituents online forms which probably get dealt with by third party administrators. We need to centralize and streamline our operations people!

I made this list a couple months ago, hope that helps:

I'm reading a lot of posts and it seems like some people are just calling their own senators. Look, most of us live in fairly liberal states so calling Feinstein or Schumer is not going to help a whole lot. Please set a goal for yourself and call everyone on this list at least 3 times. I've provided zip codes and cities for the senators who we need to be calling so you don't have to look that up on your own. If they ask you for your address, tell them that you're not comfortable giving that information out because of the patriot act, but that you'll give them the city and zip code for identification purposes.

It's only 20 senators so this time it's a lot easier.

As for the House, I wouldn't worry too much about it. We have a 78 seat edge over Republicans and even if all of the "blue dogs" voted nay (which is highly unlikely), the bill would still pass since there's only 52 of them.

I totally agree. I wonder if we can revive the post cards campaign? I thought that was really great and you can do a lot or a little and it helps.
