so i just had my fingerprints taken and im kinda exited about this whole process. but i want a green card asap as i need to do many things asap. including buying tickets for south africa next year's world cup. the funny thing is that the guy who took my fingerprints was this colombian dude who used to date my cousin, and he was pretty cool. the guy said it can take up to a year to get the interview and so on. my mouth drop and my hope for a lexus this year are getting slim. my lawyer then told me that in reality it takes about 1 to 2 months to get the interview. the guy also said it depends on what kind of petitions it is. mines is family base, and he said the fastest is marriage, but that it all depends on how lucky you are. my hearth tells me, kid you will get it eventually. but my mind says i want that sh*t right now!

i just want to know if any of you have gone through AOS or know anybody who has, and how long did it take to get at least their SSN after their biometrics was taken?
just so i wont loose my sanity, dont post crazy stories about how people got deported on their interview or their name didnt clear the biometrics FBI files. because im all positive!

Heh,I'm glad to see everything is working out as planned & know exactly what you talking about !

Believe your lawyer, our current location deals with adjustment applications expediently[compared to the rest of the US].

On your SSN question,it can take ~1 1/2 weeks after filling out the SS-5 form. You should also be able to get in-state tuition since you application is pending.

The card shouldn't take long but they all come from the office in Missouri !

Congrats on the AOS!

Feels a little weird congratulating people on being able to live their life like a normal person...but congrats nonetheless.

It will be within a 180 day time frame. Check the last receipt date you have and then just add 180 days.. could be less, but if it goes over that you contact USCIS. My mom is waiting for her court date as well, she already got everything she just needs her actual green card/visa. Her last receipt date was in june.. so I'm guessing before November/December.

nah, i just work for things. but sometimes i get lucky, like last night i had 300 in antonio minotauro nogueira. and he came on top! and he was a +160 underdog. but i had faith in him, and my booky moves like clock work.
