I have been trying to do a thorough search of these forums, maybe I am not using the right keywords, I did see someone post about getting citizenship a few months ago.. can't find it.

If someone can help me , how did you get it? Personally for me my case has been "pending" for ever and ever been out of status.

Has anyone asked someone OTHER then a lawyer for help/advice with their case?

a Senator? a Congress person?

Is that totally insane?

What if you got a long list of signatures . like 5,000 signatures of citizens who want to keep u in the country, to get help your individual case? Is that nuts?

yes I am brainstorming. Don't laugh at me!

You can get your information through a lawyer,Uscis through the 1800 number,Infopass appointment or you can basically do your own research online.

I have done several infopass appointments & have had no problems. What do you need to know ?

I am not familiar with Infopass. I know that my family's case was unification of family. my dads mom was a citizen. and our case was approved but we were told to wait for another notice. a week after that letter came my grandma died. that was 2005. It looks like my case is "pending" So i'm not sure how to go about even asking for help, can i make a plea for my own self, as a young student? Or is it better to work with my entire family's case a whole?

Would talking to my congress person here in NY help any? How much info is okay to talk about and who is safe to disclose it to?

What about my signature idea, i know people who were close to being deported recently in the news got a ton of signatures and support got to stay, what if i got something like that for myself? I am not neccessary of being deported, but out of status.

Thanks!

Did your father successfully attain permanent residence ?

1.I don't think you can unless your father attains Permanent residency himself.

2.Your family isn't the key, your father is.It completely depends on if your father has been able to attain permanent residency or not.

3.That is an extreme option only necessary for persons who are actually being deported, are in removal proceedings or other extreme scenarios pertaining to immigration matters.

4.That would depend totally on whom you believe you can trust, but it would be still be best to ascertain what the actual situation with your father's status before taking such steps.

5.If you're not close to being deported & are currently out of status it is certainly not a good idea to bring any attention to yourself if you're not in danger of removal,

6.It is not a good idea for the time being. If you can define your father's current status then we can take it from their how it would relate to you & your current immigration situation.
