I'm in my senior year right now and i'm searching for a college in california(public or private) that will accept undocumented students. anyone here who got accepted to that university, pls tell me what are the process that you have undergone. I'm not from california. do colleges take into consideration the academic achievements of a student even though he has no legal papers.

as far as i know, all UC and Cal State accept undocumented students. they also give in state tuition rates to undocumented students if they graduated from a California high school.

I graduated from CSUS but I also went to a cali high school for more than three years. I just went on the day they were accepting people's applications. The lady i got looked over mine and didn't even ask if i was legal or not. After being accepted I went to the registrar's office and spoke with the person incharge of waiver for students. I told her my status and she said i was covered by the ab540. So automatically each semester I would get a waiver each semester to pay as a resident.

I graduated 2 years ago and now I'm applying to law schools.

Good Luck!

yeah, they will accept all undocumented students. just put "other" or "undocumented" as your citizenship status.

but of course you will not be eligible for the AB540, so you'll be paying a lot!

SCHOOLS WILL ACCEPT STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF THEIR IMMIGRATION STATUS.

They'll just charge you the out-of-state tuition rates.
OR
if you have been attending high school in California, you can fill out an AB-540 form that qualifies you for in-state tuition rates.

I attend Pomona College. They will consider you and if accepted you will get generous financial aid. I love my college. I am now a conditional resident, but I was still offered pretty much complete coverage before I legalized.

The important thing to think about is that if you really want it go for it, don't stop to think about your status, because the admissions offices at many colleges, even ivy league, take into consideration your value and could privately assist you or find other venues. =]

There's always hope.

Good luck.

i have talked to other colleges and they are willing to accept regardless of status but will fall under the category of international student which i understand needs a student visa. besides are they required to report to the INS regarding the enrollment of international students.?
