Don't ever give up. It is hard to get a job right now due to the economy. Just keep at it, and suicide is not the answer. It is possible even if you are not a resident or a citizen. Just do research. Where there is a will, there is a way! Don;t ever give up.

Just think, you are not the only one in this situation...thousands share your struggle, but here we are, waiting, hoping, waiting, and praying that we can be acknowledged for what we are; humans.

You can go to college, I went to community college, then transferred to a university and got a degree. So i again, do research, go to the college and get your self informed. You will be surprised how many people are willing to help you out.

I just wish I would be free. at night I go for a walk and sometimes even cry. I though about suicide before but I don't think I would be able to do it. I don't want my parents to think that I'm lazy, I'm just trying to find a job and I can't. I feel so weak..
and you call yourself "the beast"? I'm sorry if I'm being rude, but look at the way you're acting. Instead of a beast, you're acting like a little kitten in the middle of the street.

Can't get a job? Go ahead and start looking for aluminum cans in the the street. Money is money. I could write inspiring words, but in reality the only person capable of getting you out of the hole you're in, it's you. Now do something.

So can you give advice on how to go about getting jobs when in our situation. I feel a lot like the OP sometimes and would like nothing but to be independent and make some money. Only job I ever had was some janitorial one that paid 200 bucks a month (can't do much with that in NYC). The only jobs I can see are retail/pharmacy/hospital jobs........all of which I can't even apply for. So give some advice on how you got jobs and where you live to put things in perspective for us. I know I'm not the only one in my situation and there are others who make it work it would be nice if someone shared how they did it(especially for those of us with no network).

I would suggest working for yourself. Think about making an investment into whatever you do best, or is a valuable skill. For example if you have a talent in playing the guitar, become a private teacher and treat people nicely...Just be professional about it, because that is your job. I hope this will give you some ideas.

please milliondreams, could you also give me some advice on online jobs; I have been unemployed for about a month and a half, leeching from my parents. I am sure they don’t mind, but I am feeling very incompetent. I do not need to make a lot of money, just enough to help them out with rent money and groceries. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Dude, sometime these things can be positive. Many people might think you might not be doing something, but you can take advantage of ur situation. I know feeling close to yours. Just live one day at a time, look for inspiration everyday... and do anything possible to move ahead (this might be little things, even reading good books, doing exercise, meditate) Never give up to keep yourself behind... be patient and remember that education is not a race (in the case of you wanting to finish college now). If you feel many ppl are telling you that you are this bad thing or whatnot... forget them and try to stay away. And if you feel sad or need to talk to anyone... at least come here and rant about it.
