How is taking online classes? I'm gonna do dental hygiene and in order for me to get accepted into the program i have to do a bunch of prerequesites. I have to take English 101. Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemister, Bio, and a bunch of other classes. Since the community college that offers these classes is like 45 mins away and there is no bus there, I was wondering if taking online classes would be a good idea. Is it worth it? or would you recommend going to the campus instead?

I took a number of classes online when I was getting my degree. I say go for it. They are very useful if you don't have much time.

it all depends on how you learn, if ur taking a class for something you have to memorize a lot, i would suggest an online class, its much more relaxed and on ur own time. unless you know the teacher and he/she is really good. for english, psychology etc. i woulds suggest in-class. I am currently taking a medical terminology class online, and I know if i didnt take it online, I would have probably have a much lower grade. In general Online classes are much more self paced.

If you're enrolled in a community college or university, try to take some of the courses in their website. That's what I did

For science classes I would NOT take online courses. Biochem is a pretty tough course. I was a science major and if I did not go to office hours I would have been lost.

Online classes are great if you are a dedicated person that can manage their time well. I took a few and it was great not having to go to campus and they were flexible with my work schedule at the time. One thing I can't stress enough is not to leave everything until the last moment some online classes required a bit more of an effort since you are not on campus. Also there was no curve in the classes I took.
