Hi everybody, i'm new to this forum, just wanna say "Hi" firsthand.

http://www.wgu.edu/

anyone heard of this school? i think it's kindda intersting school. Fully online school. They are non-profit private university. The tution is about $3000/semester..and i think they only ask for SSN or ITIN..so, it might be a good option if you're too busy to attend traditional school. i think you can accelerate your program too if you're committed enough.

I have been googling around about this school, i dont know im kindda buying it. i might want to try it out. what do you guys think?

I heard about it a while back and initially thought it was a scam, but then I went on their website and they seemed pretty legit.

It could definitely be an option for those who are unable to get in-state tuition rates.

My point is that employers do not believe in online U, simply because they don't. I know it is getting the popularity and I know people do take online courses, however, those courses are offered by a CAN-BE-SEEN-PHYSICAL institution. Very few offers accelerated credits.

I have checked this WGU a year or two ago, because they sent me an e-mail. It sounds great, but I can't put my trust in it. First of all, I can operate this business in an apartment building, doing all the admission and financial, while the "professors" teach courses at any location fit them the best.

Secondly, how can you tell the qualifications of the instructors. The school probably not a scam, but I doubt about the qualification. Thirdly, I do not see any good side of this kind of institution. I would pay higher tutition, going to a real college, and get a damn degree. You are going to spend money on education anyway.

Yeah, everyone worries about the cost, yet you still have to pay these folks for a certificate which 99.9% employers do not accept them. Of course you do not have to tell them what kind of college but I doubt they do not ever check it up on Google.

Money is not the biggest deal - waste some money now, and get them back later. Keep in mind there are tens of thousand of college graduates every year, and 99% come from real institution. Online course is cool, and can be cheap, but trust me, be realistic as well.

Why do people bother attending MIT when so many people claim undergraduate program does not matter? Simple: [1] preistigious name, [2] research opportunity, and [3] graduate school and future employment

You can still be the next Bill Gate from an okay-ish institution, but there are distinguish distinctions among schools. So it is between an online institution and a physical institution.

This U is cool - according to its ABOUT US description. I just do not believe the power of this. I would rather be a part time student, work hard to get through it.

You are not dumb, you can figure out the math yourself.
