I believe that as well. The Jersey DREAMers community needs to wake up and learn about the DREAM. By that I mean that I'm not sure there's a lot of people in Jersey that are aware of the bill in comparison to how many people are in NY and etc.

We have to remember that most of us didn't learn about the Act until we were well into our adulthood. So ya, if your from Jersey or even NY(cause you know, u know someone in Jersey), you need to let all your buddies know about it. Because people can't advocate something they don't know exists.

ps. Howdy Diplok! Can't a man hint on a woman on online forums anymore!?!? It's hard to find sexy undocumented girls in my area =( ..Well actually not really lol

(just a side-note, it would be a HUGE disappointment if your voice don't resemble stewie's)
So I'm the guy who sent the pm to dukem and I'm not a pedo or an alipac. (Ask Dukem, we met up in the city!) I really am a student at Columbia J-School and am still looking to talk with people in the New York/New Jersey area about their experiences as undoc students.

Also, I don't require that you use your full names unless you want to and am also available to talk over the phone if you're more comfortable with that. I think it's really important to have your voices heard and to paint a fuller picture of the problems facing undocumented students. If anyone is interested, please send me a pm. Thanks a lot!

LIES! (what? you thought I wasn't going to see that?)

We've never met nor did I even reply to your PM. So now your actually creeping me out a little bit.

But that's weird because the person who pmed me said he was son of immigrants from china(i think) and that sounds like the story clairef just posted here... hmmm.... and your both claiming Columbia universities... even though you said you were a journalism major from the Columbia in NY and he did said he was a film major from "(british) Columbia university"... which is in Canada... But then why would he be looking for people in a thread named "NYC Dreamers" then? hmmm... and you're both recent members...

Idk... it's just all very suspicious and if you're both the same people, you have definitely changed your stories.

But I don't like pointing fingers and calling people alipac... but its still all very suspicious. o.O

Anyways if your not alipac disregard all of that and just ask your questions here in the forums like we told clairef to do. I mean, after all, if you truly understand then you know this whole getting in contact with strangers about our status thing is something we all try to avoid.

Oh Christ. You're right-- and now you're not going to believe me either way...
I actually met with someone else in the city, another Dream Act forum user. I got you two confused cos of the usernames. I really am from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. I just screwed up the user names and had you confused with another member, CVLaw1.

To clarify: I am the child of immigrant parents--a Chinese father and Greek mother. As for me being another user, you can see my profile and a couple of my stories at thebrooklynink.com under my name. I really am serious about speaking with students here, and I have already met with one user from this forum.

hmmm... o.O still very fishy. Even if CVLaw was a lawyer himself he risked a lot by "meeting you in person"(assuming he really is undocumented). So you understand the reluctance, yes?

Definitely, which is why I don't require anyone to use their real names -- I only ask that they be candid and honest. I've lived in New York my whole life and know --as best as someone with legal status can "know" -- how difficult it can be to talk about this. At the same time, though, especially at this precipitous moment, I think its more important than ever to make these stories heard.

I would really like to hear from people who have managed to graduate college and have either moved on to grad school or have entered the job market. If anyone knows someone who fits the description, please pm me or email me at [email protected]
