I have no sound on this computer (my parents broke it) so I do not know what's going on, but he was talking for health reform.
After hearing his speech I really do not know what to think...
I mean he was talking for it, but his reasons where just soo weak, he basically said that there were good things about the health reform as well as bad things but that he felt the good factors outweighed the bad factors, saying stuff like that does not bring too much confidence in the reform.
During the part of the senate session I saw, it just seemed so obvious that the side against the reform is just concentrating on the immediately high cost that comes about enacting this act, and how it will be cost more to people then leaving things as they are right now, rather then thinking about how enacting such an act will actually help people, and how in the long run it will end up costing less then keeping the system as is.
I thought that Boxer's (D-CA) argument gave a good intro, she took too long though, and ended up reading too many responses by people considering that there was a time limit, however I disliked her jabbing the republicans for not being in the side of social security in 1935, and eliminating medicare and medicaid then... it just felt that using such arguments weakened hers somewhat, John Kerry was stuttering a bit, but he did manage to get in the fact that health reform could help prevent people from having their first contact with medical services by going to the ER instead of detecting a problem earlier when it is more inexpensive and cheaper to treat out of fear of having higher costs appear through co-pays if they try to get screened as its presently the case.
I hope it passes, I do not even know if you guys are for or against the health reform because I don't have frikking sound to know what is going on in the cited video... I need closed captioning
