Dating/Marrying another undocumented person!

So we've all heard of the situation in which an undocumented person marries an US citizen, and later on becomes legalized because of marriage.

How many cases have you heard of Dream Act beneficiaries marrying or simply dating another undocumented person?

What's your reaction to that? Should we date/marry only people that can help us get out of our situation?Or when it comes to love everyone is fair game?


I personally know someone who married another undocumented person, who had perhaps 3 years in the United States. They come from different worlds one is high school educated and has some college too, and the other barely has an elementary school education. Both are stuck with meager jobs and earnings.Indeed their future looks bleak.

I would really want to know your reaction/opinion on this topic.

i wouldnt mind being with someone else who's undocumented. they'd understand exactly what im going through. we'd be poor together haha.

I'm not sure. The truth is that I want to do great things with my life. I want someone who is right there with me. I always think/wonder if I would marry an undocumented person and I don't know. I guess love is blind but I feel like I want to run as far as possible from this lifestyle. If I'm a legal resident/citizen and I fall in love and want to marry an undocumented person, that's a whole other ball game but to both be stuck in this shithole life? I don't think its fair to either one of us.

I think if youre in love then thats that I dont think youre heart can be set to legals only mode. In my experience I am with an undocumented person just like me the difference being that yes he dropped out of high school and i am in college. I dont think that i could reject people that are just like me for that reason alone, that they are also immigrants.
