New Yorkers w/ WA driver's licenses?

Any New York/New Jersey folks in here who have made the trip to Washington or elsewhere to get their driver's license? I'm working on a story about the process and the difficulties DREAMers face attaining their licenses. I'm a student at Columbia Journalism School and would really like to hear from you. Obviously, due to the sensitive nature of these stories, self-identification is entirely optional. I will not publish your name unless you're comfortable with seeing it in print. I mostly just want to speak with folks candidly about their experiences.

My older sister does not live in New York or New Jersey, but she did obtain her drivers license in Washington. She's currently a student at UCLA (infact, we're both from LA). If you want to speak with her, I could forward you to her. I myself may obtain one soon... If it changes anything, I'm currently living in Boston.
