Can you get the internship if you are illegal and if you do not have the internship can you get to grad school?

yeah in Texas i think we can do a stipend as long as is founded by the state, private or the university itself not federal which unfortunalelty are most of stipend for mechanical engineers. I need to double check that if anyone knows let me know please is really hard to ask around without giving your info away.... thanks blank1412 i have a saying you can get many "no" but only one "yes" so lets look for that one.

i've done a number of unpaid internships. although i did get fired from one after i told my boss my status. he really wanted to keep me on and help me, but he had to disclose it to HR and they said that it was too much exposure for the company. It's really up to the company. The reason I told my boss about my status was because he asked if I was on a student visa, and I didn't want to lie to him.

im surprised you are having trouble finding an unpaid internship. i think the best place to look is your school's career database. a lot of employers will post listings for "academic internships" that offer academic credit instead of pay.
