i just found this website...and saw stories just like mine so i joined i guess theres alot of people that are with me on this DREAM ACT... This is my story

Im 21 yrs old currently. I came to Chicago when i was in 4th grade...my parents had been here for about 2 yrs already. My parents hired this couple who had a kid in california, the kid was about the same age as me like 8 yrs old and happened to look like me also. so the couple gave me instructions to just pretend like i was sleeping in the car while they showed the patrol officers "MY DOCUMENTS". I didnt ask questions for the whole trip i didnt even know what was going on, all i knew was that i was on my way to see my real Parents in Chicago.

so i got to chicago my parents got me in school to finish off the 4th grade here, i learned english really quick... i got used to living in Chicago. after that i went to junior high i did really good there i joined wrestling and soccer everything was good. after that i went to high school and by sophomore yr when i was 16 i was really happy cuz i thought i was gonna get my license in Driving Ed Class, I got my permit for 6 months and then i asked my teacher one day in class "Hey what do i now to get my license" and he just told me "we need to discuss this after class" and after class he explained to me and 5 other kids just like me that were " UNDOCUMENTED" that we werent gonna be able to get it due to our Status and not having social security and you guys should know the rest....

By my jr yr i was fascinated about cars and my dream was to become a certified Auto Technician. So i got in this program which would prepare me for it, i took it for 2 yrs JR and SRN. By my Senior year i had learned alot thats when My Instructors were asking me so which college are you going to i was like this one or maybe this one. Some kids in the same program as me were already being accepted by different Auto Mechanic colleges. Some Car Manufactures were even paying for your Tuition but as long you worked for them after that which was great...Job Secured, tuition payed what else could you ask for. but in every aplication i filled i always left the Social Security and Drivers License Number section blank. so they never called me or anything. so all i was able to do was finish High School and from there have been strugling to find work and All my Dreams just met a DEAD END.

Now i just work in a pizzeria with a fake social security number which has been bugging me because they started to check for Real ones... but im just stuck there for now...
Thank you for reading my story
and lets not give up for this Dream

i hear you dude (assuming your a guy).

don't give up we are all on the same boat.

as for your fake ssn just be careful with that if they ask you for more paperwork just get out of there you wouldn't want to risk your ability to qualify for the Dream Act.

I'm glad your were able find a safe place here to tell your story. You have achieved a lot despite the difficulties. Keep up the faith!! You are a great asset for those advocating on behalf of the DREAM Act.

Try to get in contact with Latinos Progresando if you are in Chicago. They are the local advocacy group in Chicago for DA.
