Not being to drive/work/school/loan/anything.

I personally can't think of anything worse that has happened to me. Life has been pretty good to me, except this one thing that shatters everything.

Try getting apprehended by ICE and put into proceedings. Yup, it happened to me.

In my life, the worst things that have happened to me are almost losing my mom to cancer twice and now my husband deploying.

But in my opinion, the worst thing is the death of a close family member. I can't think of anything that could be worse than that. I would rather be undocumented my entire life than lose my family.

Yes, I would think health of a loved one, would be of utmost importance. Right up there at #1.

I lost both of grandparents the first when I was about 8 years old. We couldn't go to the funeral since it happened in mex. The second was when I was about 19 years old, my grandpa died almost 10 years to the date that my grandpa passed away he was in his mid 90's. The most painful part was that we couldn't go again because it was mexico. The night he passed away he came into my dreams and they both said goodbye to me. When I woke up, I woke up to the phone ringing, it was my aunt in mexico calling to tell us that he had just passed that night.

After that happened I kind didn't care what the hell happened with DA or Immigration, I was so pissed that I never got to see my grandparents again I started to hate this country for it. I've since gotten a little over it. But it still angers me that all of our lives are on hold for some political play.

@blue2day

the same thing happened to my family. my maternal grandpa who i never met because i've lived all of my life here in the us practically passed away in may 2004. we couldn't leave the country obviously. it was pretty hard for my mom since she hadnt since her dad in almost 15 years! we were all close to leaving but we would be leaving to much behind, house, jobs, cars, etc and besides all of my siblings are extremely used to the american lifestyle. it sucks.

I don't think this is necessarily the worst thing that has happened to me, but I do consider it high on my list.

Losing my grandmother to cancer (who I was very close to) a year and a half ago and not being able to be by her side was hard. Unbearable, actually.

Losing my best friend (pretty much my sister) when I was 14 was also extremely painful.

Its definitely been the worst thing for me..I haven't lost anyone close to me (Thankfully!) But this "situation" holds me back from achieving all the great things life has to offer..Which in turns stresses/depresses me..And being either of those is no healthy way to live.. I used to feel like there was little I could do..So It was the worst thing that I could be put through..Because unlike let's say, death, which is a natural, yet unfortunate occurrence..It does heal with time..But those of us who remain undocumented, time isn't really healing anything..

Rather time continues to have us miss out on "milestones" as we try and figure out how to make a better life for ourselves..
You feel me?
