Some things I've heard are different (according to people I know who came here from other states to get their licenses):

-Here you can turn right when the light is red. You have to FULLY stop first and if nothing is coming you can turn. Watch out for signs that say you can't turn right because in some big intersections you are not allowed to. Also, always stop fully because there are cameras everywhere that catch people who run red lights. If you don't stop before turning right it will take a picture of you = ticket.

-A lot of streets have three lanes (or five, etc) where the middle one is for turning left. This means that if you are turning, you go to the middle lane and wait until no cars are coming in the opposite direction, and then you proceed to turn left.

This is all I can think of right now. Good luck tomorrow, I'm sure you'll do great

It was my first test so I don't know about other states. I don't they they will ask you to do something "special", just some turnings, backup, parking. That's all. The location where you have the test helps too.

parking downhill, parelell parking behind a car, and basically just knowing how to drive, i did fail the first time by 2 points(it was mean racist old lady), the second one i failed because according to the instructor i didnt stop enough at a stop sign, the 3rd time i got the nicest dmv test driver that just basically cracked jokes the whole i was driving and when i screwed up a few times he was like o i'll just pretend i didnt see that. def depends on who you get but you should be all good as long as you do a lot of driving practice

Written test costs $20 so study hard because if you fail x times it builds up. After you pass you can make a appointment for the driving test schedule which I'm guessing 1 or 2 weeks after you pass the written test. If you can't wait that long then try to take the test as a standby( go to the DMV as soon as it opens and bring your written test receipt and ask for stand by for driving test) with your car and insurence ready. Also I believe you need some valid photo id such as passports, 2 or more proof of address, and federal tax id (not sure about this one). You'll also sign a social security deceleration( for people without social #). For proof of address you'll have to find some room and ask the homeowner to add your name to his/her gas, power, phone, etc.

Ok so I know this has probably been asked before but anyway. lets say I obtain my dl from WA, I currently live in Alabama and i will be living ther for a while since im about to go to college, what do i do next? I mean of course go back to Alabama but if i were to get pulled over will they accept it or do i need to get an AL. license? (which would be impossible bc you need the 9 magic numbers to do that)
