Texas is a bit of an oddball-politically at least.

If I'm not mistaking, Hutchinson was challenging Perry as the Republican candidate for Texas governor. The thing that worries me is that so many people, specially those on the extreme-Right, are completely fanatical about the anti-everything-that-isn't-extremely-crazy-conservatism are picking up a lot of political momentum. One can only hope that the GOP ends up tearing in the middle potentially making it a powerless political body. Only then can the Dems push whatever they want without anyone holding up the process.
