The way that I've understood it, it's gonna be an ID card that may be included in CIR that would require EVERY person that wants to get hired, to have one. It will include your fingerprint and other information. Think of it as drivers license, but instead of being able to drive, you'll be able to obtain a job ("work license"). No ID, no job.

Lets do it. Honestly, the country is heading in that direction anyways. I would much rather have it include the undocumented then to exclude us.

As I read it, some fear was instilled in me because of how it's worded. And it made my realized how easily this could turn against us. They could really word it so that, because of our fault, U.S. born citizens will be treated like criminals (and we all know they love using this word), and they'll be treated like us, etc, etc....

Don't get me wrong, if this helps us get CIR passed, or DREAM Act, I'm for it. But I don't think it should be a required thing for people who are native born, or have already become U.S. Citizens. Perhaps, it could be optional for them if they want extra added security in preventing identity theft.

However, if this is to be required for everybody, instead of wasting money creating a work only ID card (Worker's Permit, anybody?), they should just add it to state ID's/Driver licenses. But just add fingerprints, not too wild on the whole wrist scanning thing, that seems a tad bit too much.

If an immigration reform is signed by the President and this form of ID is included in the bill then yes, all those that qualify would receive one.

the ID card would be a part of CIR. Therefore if CIR passes, you would [hopefully] get legalized and get a [work] ID [along with everybody else that is permitted to work in the US].

Its a selling point that Schumer is using to try to convince the American people that they are serious about enforcement and the future flow of undocumented immigrants. Like Sen Graham said it would be a tamper-proof social security card... sort of.

But it could also backfire becuse it would require every person in the US to get fingerprinted. And Americans aren't very fond of that. Big Brother government.ahah

I believe so. A biometric chip would hold fingerprint records and other information as well, i.e a social security number.
