Community College - How do I get In-State Tuition

For those of you that attends a Community College, how did you get qualified for the regular tuition?

I tried to take a class at my local community college but they required that I provide a SSN or a valid Visa, which I don't have. Thus they are charging me $300 per credit hour instead of $70, which the other local residence get.

I really need to take this class here so any info would be appreciated !! thanks!

Unless your state provides in-sate for undocumented students.. you'll have to pay out of state. "/

I live in Illlinois, and the colleges here do honor that policy. But Im not sure if that works with community college as well... am i suppose to tell them im undocumented??
