Hi everyone! My name is Carlos Quezada, I was born in Mexico, but came across the border at only three months. I have lived in the United States my whole life and I have no idea what Mexico is like! I am fifteen years old and I'm a high school freshman. I have a 4.17 GPA and have all honors and AP classes. I am a member of many clubs, and I play soccer in my high school team. Its very hard for me to know that its very hard for an illegal alien to attend college, I was even voted Most Likely to Graduate from College in my AVID class. Even if I do pay the out-of-state tuition, I still have no social security number so I can't have a job or put my degree to any use! It's my life dream to become a doctor but sometimes I feel there is no way I'll ever become a doctor because it will be illegal for me to practice medicine in the United States. Sometimes I loose hope and I wonder why I work so hard? I am hoping SO bad that this Dream Act is passed! It would be great to talk to someone who is in the same situation as me or to hear about other stories and how other people got through similar situations. Please e-mail me at cquezada50@yahoo.com or send me an e-mail here on Dream Act. Thanks and I hope to meet a lot of new people! Also, I live in California.

what state do you live in? some border states allow undocumented students to pay in state tuition and qualify for state financial aid and school scholarships. youre pretty young so just enjoy high school and do your best! i'm sure/hope that something will be done by the time you graduate!

yeah. it is a horrible situation we're in. but you are young. There will be reform by the time you will be applying for college. You should get involved and help the process move faster.

Private unis like Harvard and Princeton have been known to award full rides to talented undocumented youth. Talk more with your college counselor!

hello Carlos.... well first of all... don't worry about college right now, you are doing a great job in high school, and believe me... everything is gonna change by the time you get out from HS. im in college right now and I am in the same situation as you but i think I have to do everything to be ready when this act passed. also I want to share with you, something that my mom always tell me about life... "Dios pone pruebas a todos, pero siempre de acuerdo a cada persona" it means that, stop thinking about your problem, God put u in this situation because he knows that you can handle it.....
