If the bill is passed and our status turns to conditional permanent residency, would that mean we would get a Social Security? Also, could we visit our native country and still be able to return to the USA like a normal citizen or legal resident?

Yes,Conditional residency would allow a person to apply for an SSN from SSA.An I-551 is basically equal to conditional residency,& is a work authorized status in the US.

You can also travel outside the US but the restrictions limit it to 365 days of the 6 year conditional residency.If you add up more than that over the 6 year period your status is considered abandoned.
Quote:
(C) The alien has not abandoned the alien's residence in the United States. The Secretary shall presume that the alien has abandoned such residence if the alien is absent from the United States for more than 365 days, in the aggregate, during the period of conditional residence, unless the alien demonstrates that alien has not abandoned the alien's residence. An alien who is absent from the United States due to active service in the uniformed services has not abandoned the alien's residence in the United States during the period of such service.

@arodriguez

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I also want to be able to go visit my family whom I haven't seen in over 10 years. I barely know them! It gets lonely up here in the States with only a few aunts and uncles, a few cousins and my parents and siblings. What part of central Mexico are you from? I'm from Mexico City.
