Btw everyone.. Is anyone else feeling like the Arizona scandal might be what we needed to help CIR happen sooner?

P.s: not to sound ignorant or anything..but almost everyone on here is from Mexico!

P.P.S- I too have/are considering moving if nothing else falls through.. So it's all really a matter of perception..all of you who are considering moving back to Mexico or wherever probably will have it better than you think. ; ) At least, I hope we all end up better than where we are now.

Hef107, I think that anything will be better to what I am currently undergoing. Sure it will be hard at first but one needs to get used to their surroundings. I would love to succeed here in the US because it would be a lot easier. However, no matter what happens I will still have that resentment towards this country for keeping me in obscurity for years. I'm angry that I fell off the tracks because of some draconian US policy.

I'm not being a brat but I don't feel American or Mexican. That is a major reason that I don't want to go back. I don't feel that connection with their culture or this one in general because no matter what I do it will never please either. I am thankful for being able to accomplish some of my education here but thats it. I don't like to be closed off ,but thats what these two countries did to me. My heart tells me that I have no business in Mexico because I will hate it. But, at least I will be able to be "free." Yet it angers me that I have been here for 20 years (I am 21) and they still put me in this position.

No matter what I will always be haunted. I feel like I need a new start but not here or Mexico but somewhere else. A place for a new beginning

I don't really have plans, to be honest. If I am not approved immediately, we will file an expedite (they just approved an expedite due to my husband's deployment so chances are good) to avoid backlog. If I were denied forever, my husband would request to be stationed overseas for the remainder of his military contract, and I would apply for a visa for whichever country he was stationed in.

After that, who knows..? I don't like to plan too far into the future seeing as none my prior plans have ever worked out.

I don't think you're being a brat at all. I'm certain that they majority of everyone on the forum feels the exact same you do. I know I do. I completely understand how you feel because I have always felt the same way.

Why couldn't you have new beginning in Mexico? It's easy to judge Mexico by how the media portrays it, but until you are there, you won't know what it's like. You were one year old when you left, so it's not like you would be going back to a place you know. Just saying.

I know it's easier said than done, and nothing anyone ever tells you will ever change the way you feel. I mean I'm sitting here waiting for my appointment date to go back to Mexico and I am having second thoughts.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we could all get together and start a new country where we could combine all of our cultures along with our version of the American dream and live happily ever after? Haha.

Exactly what you said.. I've always felt outta of place.. I'm not American enough (brown/ no SS) and I'm not spanish enough either.. My Spanish isn't too great..

And I totally feel you on the starting a new contry thing! Lol.. I've always wished I really could..

Back in high school, and even sometimes now, I've always felt alone in this siuation.. And after joining this forum I felt a little glad there were many more "me's" out here....but It still seems a bit surreal.. I mean, we all disuss things on here.. but in the end, we'll all end up in different places..

If everyone leaves elsewhere to pursue a better life, we'll always have our past engraved in us.. and still feel somewhat alone.. Unless everyone moves to Mexico to meet up.. moving to another country we will still be the outcasts!

Ahh.. Damn our parents for wanting a better life for us!! JKKKKKK.

Well we can forget about anything happening for this year.

Hopefully we can hold out a little longer.

So if your dad loses his job, you're going back? I almost left the US back in 06 after graduation, since I had just turned 17 and had accumulated no illegal presence. I was soo close. Thankfully, I met my husband that year.. and I chickened out.

I actually liked the techno lol

Yeah it seems that way. That's great!
If we go back now, I may have a better chance of coming here LEGALLY now.

Hey guys, I've been checking out UNAM also, it looks pretty cool, well this video convinced me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt-fKHqkllU Preetyjolie, it would be great if you kept us updated on your university experience in Mexico, specially the the whole vibe and the "chilango" lifestyle (hope I don't offend anyone with that word). I'm asking because I'm from a tiny town in Mexico where there were like 50 of us and like 2 radios and 1 televison .. and I used to run and hide when ever I saw a plane which was like once a year (no joke) therefore I am not familiar with the Mexican city lifestyle at all. Plus, I'm planning on going to el DF myself but I'm nervous because the city looks overwhelming.

To be honest with a lot of you guys I am not the brightest person. School for me in general was hard especially math, science and anything that did not have to do with speech, communication, theater, or TV classes. Going to Mexico and starting all over would be hard especially since I cant write in Spanish.

I just hope its not so hard. This seems more of a reality now since Obama doesn't have his "appetite" to do anything.
