Did he not say the same thing last week? Then at the beginning of this week, was on board again, and now he's overboard again? Jesus. What comes out of this man's mouth should not be trusted, whether it's positive or negative. Until he signs the (hopefully, future) passed (yes, always optimistic) CIR Bill, I'm remaining neutral on what he says.

I've been following this site for some time now, hoping that eventually something will surface which gives people the opportunity to live and succeed in this country, but after hearing all this rhetoric and false promises from politicians, I felt like I needed to say something. So...

Fuck You Obama and fuck all of those politicians who are looking to save their own asses instead of working for the people they are supposed to represent. Modern politics are hardly about helping those in need. Rather, it is about interests which often involve corporations and companies looking to get richer than they already are. If certain agendas don't benefit this country financially, those running it will never approach it. So, until the immigration issue becomes about money and financial benefits, no politician is ever gonna touch. So, all those politicians deserve a big FUCK YOU for turning their backs to those people in need.

President Obama's pragmatism will backfire. His biggest mistake for his legislative agenda is that he lets the Congress do everything and that he listens to the other side of the aisle too much.

His pragmatism paid off during the 2008 campaign, but it doesn't always work.

He tends to make a few calls and statements as a way to support legislation that is on his agenda. If these bills are important for his agenda, he should be more aggressive. But, he tends to be a "spectator" who just watches how the Congress works. With such a polarized Congress, that does not help at all. He should be a negotiator who helps balance the interests of both sides in the Congress.

While it is good to have bipartisan support for any bill, starting in the middle makes one to move more to the opposite side. In this case, he is letting his legislation become more favorable for the right. This angers the left, his base. That does not means it satisfies the right. The right is always angry. In the end, everyone is unhappy. From his stance on energy policies (ex - offshore drilling) to health care policies, being practical is not always the best idea.

Chill man, we are not supposed to be here anyway so anything that benefits us in the end is just that, a benefit, a reward for breaking a faulty law. Don't depend on something that you have no control of to set the direction that you need to take in your life. I am gtfoing of the US if this thing doesn't pass before 2012. There's more to life than obtaining a degree and a desk job. Think of all the other learning experiences that you have missed because of the lack of a document and consider if you want to keep missing out on many more to come for the years to come.

At ~3.5% of the current total legal population we still are pretty insignificant, harmless, and tend to avoid the law like the plague, we are no threat and they are ok with this. Legislators would probably end up securing the border first before implementing a whole lot of new systems to deal with the current illegal population and employment issues. I wouldn't be surprised if an immigration reform occurred after 2012 or 2016. If nothing is done before the end of June all the awareness that was raised will be utterly fucked.

What is wrong with you Obama bashers? Damn, he's ONLY the president and not some sort of dictator who can simply wave a wand and say *my words are the law of the nation*. How can you honestly even think that the president has any power other than saying *hey congress, lets start writing laws* and signing bills into laws and ask the gov. to pass CIR wherein you would receive papers...for god's sake, this is basic constitutional law! It's like blaming Obama, Pelosi, and Reid for whatever court ruling Chief Justice Roberts presides over. Because congress can't get their sh*t together its easier for all of you to just point the finger and blame it all on Obama.

We're asking the gov to proceed with CIR before the midterms-I guarantee we'd get zero Republican support and lets face it we need at least one of them to vote-and that's if every Democrat in the senate votes on a party line. If by some chance they do push CIR and a DREAM Act-style provision prior to the midterm election and it completely tanks, what then??? Are you still going to blame Obama? The cynicism you people display is not at all different from those on the far right; tea baggers, Faux News, Limbaugh, Beck...and quite frankly it's stupid and sickening.

Now don't get me wrong, I've been having my chain pulled since middle school when the first version of the DREAM Act was introduced-I understand the desperation and the emotional roller coaster all to well, however there is no excuse for the lack of decorum, not at all.

Well said, exactly my thoughts. We are needy but at the same time we can't come off as demanding assholes when we are not even supposed to be here.
