Need Urgent Advice

Okay guys, I want yall's honest opinion if going to college here is really worth it. I mean, I've been reading many posts by many of you guys and all I see is complaints about not being able to work when you have a masters degree or a phD and what not and honestly, I don't want to go through all that trouble just to end up a prisoner like you guys, no offense intended. Maybe the DA will pass, maybe it wont'. I'm now about to be a senior in high school and it would really help me decide my future if I could get yall's opinion because I know most of you are in college or college graduates. I still have time to leave, study Mexico and/or return legally because I'm not 18 and 170 days yet ()...soo please help me out guys. Thanks.

The best advice I could give you is that if there is no reform two months before your 18th birthday then leave. It will be a lot easier for you to comeback since you wont have that 10 year ban

Having a college degree from a four year university makes you part of a different social class. There is a worthwhile amount of prestige that comes from being 'college educated'. People in general will treat you better when they are aware that you are college educated.

Additionally, with many college degrees no one really expects you actually work somewhere that is directly related to your field. Think about Art majors. There aren't that many jobs out there specifically for art majors. A lot of them end up working as waiters or at Starbucks. So you may not have to worry about working in your field.

Also, there is always the possibility that some kind of immigration reform (including Dream) will happen in the four years while you are in college.

Also not considering any kind of reform, which at this point could go either way. What family ties do you have that could sponsor you? If either of your parents is a citizen, or a sibling (at age 21) could sponsor you going back would be a good idea.

Life here without status is difficult, but the education in this country is definitely worth the struggle in my opinion. If you are lucky enough to have a good support system of family and friends that could help you out I would definitely try to go to college here.

I would suggest you stay if you can afford to pay for college. If you have a girlfriend I would get married and leave before 18. I wish I was advised like this before my 18th birthday.
