President Obama ordered 1,200 National Guard troops to the Mexico border in an effort to reach out to Republicans. He'll need their support to move forward on immigration reform.

Those in GOP always find ways to delay all bills Obama wants to pass. I hope GOP will work with Dems on CIR or Dream and AgJobs as they got what they wanted-more border security. But I think they still will yell that the border is not secure enough as they don't have any other arguments to postpone immigration bills passages. Just as McCain said in the article: “I appreciate the additional 1,200 [troops] being sent ... as well as an additional $500 million, but it’s simply not enough,” Senator McCain said.

I am getting a little tired of Obama always compromising his promises with everyone. Even BP is getting their way with Obama. He is getting no respect from anyone, republicans have lost the election, yet they are calling all the shots. At the same time, every time I see Obama in the news, he is doing some photo op at a school or spending time with his family. Okay, I am happy for him having such a great time at the White House and getting a puppy, and sending his kids to the best private school in DC (I am from DC, so I know) and giving his aunt a green card for doing nothing, but what has he done for anyone else?

i completely agree with what you said. He is all fun and no hard work. its been 35 days and he can't pressure bp to do anything that bp doesn't want to do. he is worst than lame duck president. It took him 1.5 yr to pass a piece of crap called hc reform. ICE should send his aunt ass back to kenya (or wherever he is from) before removing any immigrant. My blood boils every time i hear fate of dream act tie to CIR.

The length of the entire US/Mexico border is roughly 2000 miles; how big do you think the US is?
