As someone who once served, I don't think joining the service isn't the only way to show love or patriotism for your country. There are other things in life than one can do.

To the poster who kept saying he/she would never join the military because this country is oppressing you, -------->You have the nerve to say that? You are what you are because of your parent's decision. When they came here , they knew what the cost and consequences are and yet they did, knowing full well what your future may hold. It is not this country's fault that you are undocumented. There are laws that this country have and I'm sure your home country does too. Lastly, if you feel oppressed, do remember that no one is forcing you to stay here. You have the option to leave.

Sigh.>> That's it good bye. It has been interesting reading about the hopes, dreams and frustrations of the folks here. A great many of you deserve to be citizens of this great nation. Sadly, a few are undeserving.

Ok, by joining you don't have to go fight the war directly, I hope you know that. I don't meant to be rude but the military covers great amounts of fields and I am guessing you're a female, def don't think you're going to go die in Iraq right away. So you can wtf all you want but this world is not of ppl who fear it but of those that go out there and take risks.
You have to a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for any other Military job that's not Infantry

I agree with justchecking69 if your so mad about "this country oppressing you" then leave. I personally am not an all out patriot but I sure do love the opportunities I have here rather than my home country so I'm not being oppressed. We are at a point where our future is unfortunately in the politicians hands. If they pass a military part oh well you get what you can take if you wanna stay.

"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder." -- Albert Einstein

I don't care, if I think it's a war worth fighting or if they pay me top dolla (5 million dollars), I'd be more than happy

What just because I don't want to join the military I am undeserving lol

First of all, I see where you are trying to get at but I still feel oppressed by this country. Fuck, I'm damaged. As someone who has been here all of their life ,then yeah I feel that way. Moreover, of course I can leave ,but I am not ready to sacrifice all of my work.
