Depends if you are near the border.

I'm curious, what was your route? I'm considering a Chicago to Minneapolis/St. Paul trip. I know Minnesota is a border state, but straight north from Minneapolis to the border is more than 200 miles.

yeah, those things are safe. it only has limited destinations, so chances are VERY low.

I've taken it before. If you go during mid-week, you have the cheapest price and on top of that there's not too many passangers so it's really comfortable! Also, there's wi-fi so bring a laptop.

I've done the Minn/ Chicago route before. Nothing to worry about. Like ECL said, if you go during the week, you can normally get a lot of space and spread out. The bus is rather full on the weekends and makes that seven hour ride a rather painful one.
