Sorry to be so repetitive with this question..
but I am incredibly interested in taking a trip out there to obtain my DL, but I want to make sure I go to the right one.
Anyone who has successfully and recently done this.. could you please share that information.
It's important to alot of us ,that we do this right,.. none of us want to waste time or money.. that's obvious.
So any detailed information could be very useful.
No disrespect for people who have answered questions pertaining to this.. but a lot of us want details.. please PM me if it makes things easier..

thanks

Hi there, I saw your post about New Mexico and I wanted to ask whether you've been able to get any insight or suggestions about a new mexico ID. I'm from Texas and I'm considering driving over there to get one, but I want to have a sense of what to expect.

Thanks!

I'm interested too. I didn't know there were states where DL's for people like us could be obtained until the day I ran into this forum. I've been driving illegally for about 6 years now. I was let go with just expensive tickets in Colorado, but it cost me a lot of money and a lot of time when my car was impounded in L.A., for 30 days, back in 08' and have been lucky to not run into cops since. I looked at the website, and is there a way to avoid the few months of trying to establish proof of New Mexico or Washington residency?
Does anyone drive out to New Mexico and Washington to obtain one, and drive back, or do you absolutely have to re-locate for a few months?

Here's the website for the NM Motor Vehicle Department. The front page has the locations in the state, I hear its faster to go to a private (green) office.

Here is a list of requirements for driver's licenses in NM:

Good luck!

Do they take P.O. boxes as a mailing address? Does anybody have any experience in using P.O. boxes to get a state ID?
