Hi everyone! I received a call from a detective this morning who said that I might be served a subpoena as a witness. I just have to say that I'm really glad that the second thing he said after his name was "don't worry you're not in trouble."

He asked for my name, date of birth and ethnicity ( I don't know why that's necessary). He didn't inquire for anything further like a SSN (which I was tremendously glad about), but now I'm extremely worried. Has anyone gone to court as a witness? If so, do they ask about citizenship/proof of citizenship?

Please help, I'm freaking out here!! Granted, I'm just going to be a witness and not the bad guy, but still...
