See, this is a good piece of advice right here. I need to just screw hat other people think about me. If they think I'm a bum, so be it. I suppose what's important is that I know I'm not one and that everything I want to be is just on the backburner for now, not completely gone.

if you're anything like me, you probably go on facebook to see what your friends are doing/have done. my singular piece of advice is to either quit facebook (impossible, I know) or NOT see what they're up to. i remember crying last week because i saw that most of my friends are now in law school/ med school/PhD programs/working for the NYT/ Christian Science Monitor.

To put it bluntly though, so what? So we all get a later start on our careers, but that's just life. Sometimes we're handed a good hand, sometimes we're handed a lousy one, but like someone else said, our status shouldn't be a predictor of future success. Our law school/ med school driven friends might wind up hating their fields of interest and going into some other field in their 30s-40s anyway. Take solace in that fact. Otherwise, you'll just drive yourself/your mom crazy with incoherent speeches about how life isn't fair.

Same BS year after year, but we have to hang on.
Things are not any better in Mexico, or any where else for that matter.
So try to do the best with what you have, stay busy.

Run, Bike, Swim, join a Gym, party, get a part time job, date, join a club team, take up some sort of hobby. In short live your life.
Mexico isn't bad if you are educated and don't live in the ugly parts.

yes it is. but there is no reason it stays at 35. it could go to 40 or come down to 21. if we allow the logic of an age limit, any number goes and is on the table. and for the sake of most in the thread, it better not go down to 25.
