Hello! I'm a 20 yr old girl, born in China, came over from Singapore at the age of 16. Currently working in my mom's Chinese restaurant; waiting to be a freshy in college. Well, have been working ever since I came over here in United States. I never had any kind of freedom that i wanted. I always wanted to be free. looking at other kids being able to drive, roam around is just killing me. I was so happy to be out of High school. Not that I dont have to wake up so early in the morning or it bothers me, but just for the fact that I dont have to see other seniors driving pass me and see me looking at them with those envious eyes.
So this summer I planned to go to CA, Los Angeles with my cousin, she's a PR. And guess what? Its gonna be a suicide for me. I hold a Singapore passport, with a overdue I-94 visa on it, and my passport expires on Aug. 20 2010. I know everyone probably would be thinking 'what the fuck is she thinking?!'. I know, that's probably the Stupidest choice ever to be made, but I really wanted to go on Vacation, like a real one and not just going to NYC for 2 days and back. I told my parents about it, I told them that I know I might get caught and get deported, but it doesnt matter. I can (maybe) do just fine in Singapore, I would register myself in college there(although hard to get in), I can get ANY job i want in singapore, and most of all, I get my freedom. I'm constantly comparing to the kind of freedom I get in America as compared to Anywhere else. Yes, I would have the 10 yrs bar, But I can travel anywhere in the world. I mean its a pretty nice catch. Even though the sacrifice is huge, like losing scholarship for college, wont get to see my friends and family for 10 yrs, but Im ready to do this.
I really hope that I can get away with those TSA, I hope that with my looks, they would just have it easy on me. =) Well, I like U.S.A, only if i get my paper, without them I can just do nothing and get stuck in typical Chinese Restaurants, which i totally hate. okay, pray for me if u believe in God. Feel free to say anything=))

I completely understand your frustrations and you seem to be okay with the consequences of your trip this summer, I wish you the best of luck.

You're not stupid, you are just making the CHOICE to take a risk.

P.S. if it was me though I'd at least get a NEW passport without the expired visa, it seems like many dreamies on here travel okay like this.

I think the general consensus is that the TSO only looks at the first page with your info. If some asshole does happen to flip the pages to check out your visa, then having an expired I-94 would be the same as having a blank passport. Speaking of which, it's been too long since I have had my entry passport. Can you yank the I-94 off the passport?

I fly to Miami from NYC several times a year with no problems. Now it's easier for me since I got my NM license but in the past I did it with my blank passport.
