So I heard that even though you're undocumented, you could apply for ITIN aka the tax identification number. I looked the form up but I was really confused on how to fill it out. There are a couple reasons why I should apply (just how the form asks) but I really don't know which one applies to me.

Anyone out there who happened to have an ITIN? Help me please. Thanksss!

I applied for it twice independently (i think, I know it was definitely once), and it got rejected. So with the help of a tax preparer, I was attached as a dependant on my mom's taxes, as a dependent you need a "identifying number" so some weeks later they sent the ITIN.

Thats the easiest way to get one

Yes it is possible and legal to apply for/recieve an ITIN even if you are undocumented.
