Sucks for you.

I was looking up the Canadian option and they say they could give me a residency in a year, all I have to do is apply and I don't even need an employer to sponsor me.

The choice essentially comes down to family vs. freedom. Yes I want to tavl, I want to live my dreams, I want to feel free, but none of that would make me happy if I coulnt see my family for 10 years. So I choose family. I'll wait.

I know what you mean.. It's so hard to leave behind everything..and friends and family.. I already feel I've left all my loved ones since moving out to California.. I haven't had a chance to go back to Florida yet. hopefully things change soon..

My plans are:

1) Marry my BF.

2) Wait a couple years more for Dream Act

3) Move to Europe... (have my friends and family visit to keep me sane).. If I like it, I'll stay.. If I miss the US, I'll wait out my ten year ban then come back through my mom or sister.

This might be far-fetched/crazy but since they married when you were 15-16(?), and you're still under 21. Can't he file the I-130 petition for you now (which should freeze your age)? Anyone can fill out the petition... it's just for him to sign it.

Attorney Laurel Scott has a Q&A on immigrate2us.net , maybe you can ask her.

I sent in my question, how do i get her answer???

She answers questions every Wednesday at 11 CST in her Chatroom .

Plus, the answers will be posted sometime after the chat (08/04) in the immigrate2us.net's Laurel Scott Chat Logs section.

If she doesn't answer it, the next thing might be a consultation but it's $100-200, I think.

I hope something works out for you (gl).

How can they give you residency without a sponsor is your job experience through the roof to get the necessary points.

There is a fast track program for US H-1B workers, applicable only to current US H-1B workers. A proof of work as an H-1B worker in the US for at least one year is all they need to see that you would adjust well in Canadian labor market.

Apply now, claim your green card a year later. No sponsor needed.

The US CIR has something similar, an instant green card provision for the US advanced degree holders in STEM field in CIR. Unfortunately, this is tied up with unpopular provisions like"a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants".

I honestly don't know because all my family's here-parents and siblings and the kicker is that they're all US citizens (some by birth, some through Naturalization) except for me, there's no one else in my family in this same situation. I just don't want to start from the beginning in my home country that's why I'm so hesitant to go back, I never lived there as an adult and I'll be there all by myself if I went back, that bothers me. Presently I'm conflicted and I don't yet have a plan on my next move to be honest.

Same here. I am the only one without a green card, while my mother and brother do.
