In about a month I'll have to start applying.
I don't know where and I don't know how I'm gonna pay for it.

I live in Pennsylvania. School's about to start. My grades aren't that good for a scholarship. They don't have in state tuition here for illegals. I have pretty much a B average.

I have a 3.8 GPA weighed, 1950 SAT, one AP class which I got a four in. Only extra curriculars are FBLA and school newspaper.

I think I'm screwed. The only college I'll probably be able to get in and pay is community college. Where should I apply?! what should I do?!

In PA you pay out of state tuition, so you have no choice but community college for you until DA passes.

Don't give up just yet. You haven't been dreaming for 10 years like some folks here.

If you must stay with your parents, then community college is your only option unless you have a scholarship. I paid instate because I had what would be considered a full-ride scholarship for an instate student, you know what I mean. For legals they would pay nothing, but I paid half because full-ride scholarship covered the other half.

So keep up your college GPA to 3.9(Summa Cum Laude level) and who knows, you might get a scholarship or something.

I don't care if they pay the entire thing. I'm not going to community college. No way, no how. I'd rather join a revolutionary communist group in the jungle in south america. At least I'll have a purpose there. To graduate from community college as an illegal is pretty much like not graduating at all.

You have debt to pay the half that the government won't pay for you, so you're stuck working a crappy job to pay the loans while an American wouldn't have to pay a cent. You'll be taking home at the end of the day what a mcdonald's worker earns.

I'm going back to south america where i'll easily be accepted into a top college that I can actually afford. Then I'll apply here as an international student and hopefully get tuition for law school.

Hey bro, There is nothing wrong with community college. You'll be able to transfer to any institution of your choice after your first two years. By then, I'm sure our situation will be resolved. Why don't you consider applying to some ivy league schools? There was a list on this section of colleges which give undocumented students full ride if they can't afford the tuition.

Because my grades suck for an Ivy. No ivy is gonna take a 1950 for the SATs.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with community college.... if you're American.
As I said, when you're illegal you have to pay twice and you end up with a lot of loans that you have to pay back as if you had gone to a private university.

If you can manage to get out of the ten year ban, I say go for it. I think you'll know by Nov or so how the situation for DREAM act will turn out for the near future.

As for a community college, don't be such a snob. I'm sorry to be so rude but yes, you/we are undocumented; the reality is that we can't afford to have our cake and eat it, too. If you didn't want to go to a community college you should have busted your a** off to get excellent grades like many other undocumented students do. It might not be too late to focus on something during your senior year and excel at it in order to get scholarships.

Best of luck with whatever you decide. I know either decision will take a lot of guts.

Yeah I won't get a 10 year ban. You're not penalized if you're under 18. Which I am.
