Yup, with my mom & siblings, we were visiting then... My siblings are USC's, by the way, I'm the only one who isn't... (sad reality), so, we went back. I came 10yrs ago for another vacation, until my mom told me to stay & go to school, so I could have better opportunities... My parents also told I'd be home for every holiday, & during the summer when we get long breaks... They also promised to visit often (they haven't been able to get visas's ever since).

My aunt & her husband who I was staying with, at the time, pretty much used me to babysit their kids, while they paid for my tuition at CC... (It was the only option I had in school choices, since they were paying for me...)

I didn't understand the meaning of papers until I was about to transfer... All my grades, everything I 'd hoped for, my dreams had to be flushed down the toilet... They didn't do anything for me when it came to changing my status, even though I was still a minor. I'm grateful to them, for the opportunity & the money they spent on me, and I've had a hard time letting the resentment & bitterness, I feel toward them, go.

After my AA, I just left the state, looking for better prospects & opportunities... Its not come yet. I am still as stuck & sad as ever... Anyways, my best friend & I are in the same boat, & we help each other when the going gets tough... Its all about survival in a cruel world like this. Fact.

In Texas, undocumented students can go to a university and pay in-state tuition as long as they meet the requirements to establish Texas residency. See the following site: http://www.universityleadership.org/

What if you graduated from high school & have your AA from a different state? Can you still go to school in TX, even if you don't qualify for in-state tuition?

Saygran, your best bet is to make an anonymous phone call. Just say "A friend of mine is interested in attending your school, however he(or she) is undocumented. Could she go to school at your institution?"
