Hello fellow Dreamers:
I was brought here by my parents at the age of 14. I was always a good student with high ambitions. After High School, I attended community college, where I got excellent grades. While I had a wonderful experience going to community college, I had a hard time watching friends and classmates, with similar grades, transfer to prestigious universities, while I was stuck. Eventually, I transfered to a state university where I obtained a degree in science, and not having any other options, I currently attending the same university trying to get a Master in Biology.
I am having a hard time trying to finish my masters, because I do not know what to do after that. I want to do medical research, but I need a PhD. I guess what really bothers me is that I haven't made any friends at my university. It is hard when I have to constantly hide my true identity. My lab classmates including my advisor think I am slacker because I cannot answer simple questions such us, what are going to do with your masters?? Or don’t you want to get a PhD???
Well, I know there are thousands of students going through similar experiences. Hopefully,Dream Act will pass soon, and we can all reach our full potential.
