The amendment usually passes in its language. It'll get an up or down vote; but it'll not be amended

Does anyone one have number where we can also text them? Some of my 'friends' might only help by texting the senator.

No. They do not take "texts". Either call them or email them.

Hello Everyone! This is my first time posting in the forum. I was reading the thread, and felt that I had to do my part if our DREAM is to come true. I'm from Orlando, FL. I just got off the phone with a lady in Sen. Bill Nelson's office. I asked to leave a message, she said "Certainly", and I said I wanted to urge the Senator to support the Dream Act on next week's vote and some other things along the lines in the transcripts i read here in the thread. She asked for my zipcode and said thank-you and she would deliver the message.
I'm just sharing my experience to encourage others who haven't taken action yet to do so. And now that I have, i feel empowered to do more.
I also tried contacting Sen. Lemeiux, but the mailbox was full. I'll try again later. I'll also try to reach Senators from other states.

It is called Secondary Amendment . Google it.

I think you can limit those in rules committee in the house but i think there is no limit in the senate ( any one feel to correct me on this if i am wrong).

I think there are some restrictions/limitations on Secondary Amendments but don't remember them at the moment.

i think that by stand-alone the original poster meant it will stand without CIR (as an amendment to defense bill), anyhow no, most likely the same bullshit would happen as with HCR if dream were to get a vote as an independent act, retardicans would water it down and then refuse to vote on it anyways

Better chance of passing DA stand-alone or with the Defense bill? What happens if it passes on Tuesday in the Senate? Does it go to the House?
