i agree with DA User, dream act is not going away, not for a long shot. i personally don't think that adding it to the defense bill is the best way to get it passed, but at least it's something. If it fails this time, it will be brought up again, and again until it passes. it is just a matter of time. we are just too numerous and powerful to be ignored.

Wow, some of you are quite gullible.

Everyone with a little bit of common sense in them knew that Cornyn would never vote for the DA or for CIR for that matter. We need to focus on actual moderates (on immigration, that is) like Snowe, Collins, Voinovich, Gregg, Brownback, Brown and LeMeiux.

People like Cornyn, Bailey-Hutchison etc just like to say that they would vote for it if the border were secured first, or if immigrants weren't so damn brown, or if McCain's daughter lost weight. The fact is that they will never vote for any kind of immigration reform but by the same token they understand that they can't be blatant about their bigotry because of the size of the Latino constituencies in their home states.

House and Senate will have majority. Dems are gaining momentum.

Based on Reid and and other Rep talks. We only need like 3-5 Reps to vote yes. I have been following DA since it was released in 2001.

I have to commend Sen. Reid for his genius ! I do have a lot of faith that DA will pass next week. You'll see, DA could turn out to be a litmus test for latino voters. If Republicans dare to bring Dream Act down, we immigrant will vote en masse to bring down the Republican Party
