I need to find mine and update my address. You're required to within 10 days of moving. I can't find the card nor my number =/

You can get a replacement card, update your address information, and register online. http://www.sss.gov/ack.htm

You can check a registration online but you need your social, I don't know what your supposed to put on that that field, so I recommend you to call them, and I'm pretty sure they can help you find your Selective Service # and send you a replacement card. How old are you? You only need to update your address until January 1 of the year you turn 26.

You can register until you turn 26.

They actually sent me a letter with a form that I could fill out and send back. I, being the moron that I am, lost it. So now I have to walk my ass to the postal office and send it out.

You may ONLY register online if you have a Social Security Number. The majority of us do not, so you must go in to your local post office and ask for the Selective Service registration card. Fill it out, put it in the mail since you're already there. Done. You will receive a card confirming your registration. Keep that card put away safely.

"If you are a man ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service. It’s the law. According to law, a man must register with Selective Service within 30 days of his 18th birthday. Selective Service will accept late registrations but not after a man has reached age 26"

as soon as i hear "dream act passes" on the news or something, i go online and quickly register right over here

Not 26 yet.

When I was sent the card, my social showed up as either all zeroes or all dashes -- I forget.

I might end up writing them a formal letter and asking them to send me a new card or I can keep digging.

Anyway, I read somewhere else on this forum that someone was denied their citizenship application because they had not registered for the SSS before turning 26. So if you're in the country and you fall under the list of people who need to register, you need to go and do it while you still can.

I don't understand why those who have to register haven't registered yet. I registered when I turned 18 and the only thing that was different was that I started getting a lot of spam from the armed services asking me to join (and I would if I could, damnit!)

well i tried to sign up right now online and got this message

"There is a problem with the Social Security Number that you submitted. If you mis-keyed it, please correct it and re-submit your registration. If your number is correct, then it is not yet in our data base. Therefore, click here (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader ), print out a SSS Registration Form, fill it out and mail it to: Selective Service System, P.O. Box 94732, Palatine, IL 60094-4732. Privacy Act Statement"

i guess i have to manually fill it out
