-___- dude chill we all have family in our countries of origin. and i respect what your saying. I graduated in June and right now is hell for me. To see everyone going to college and just living normally hurts. I wish more people on here would stop using "all my friends are here, its all i know", its the same for all of us. I dont want to go back but its looking like my only option and i dont wana end up in my 20's watching my life pass me by. I just wish that option would be supported also.

And Conte's wrong. If you go back before 18 theres no ban. 180's after your 18th ='s 3 year ban. Anything more is 10 years.

For some, staying here for a while longer is a pragmatic decision. You have yet to graduate high school... do you know what you want to do with your future? Or what colleges/education might best suit your needs? What direction you want your life to be taking? If you find that you're going to be fine even if you leave America after high school, then go for it. But think things through, if you haven't already, because you won't be able to come back for at least 10 years.

Don't leave, this is a test. They are trying to see who is going to dessert and turn against them.

We have some republicans in favor and some senators that are in favor but did not voted. That was mainly because it was introduced with the "don't ask don't tell" amendment.

Since they haven't got the survey from the armed forces department that would tell them how the soldiers felt about the fact. John McCain was arguing to that, but not agaisnt the Dream Act its self. But also because the republicans are trying to stop the democrats gain more credibility and support from the people by stopping every good thing that they would pass that can affect people's lives directly.

The only reason that it didn't pass was because it got phillibustered by the republicans.

It's been 10 freaking years since it was first introduced. And they are not passing this simplest bill for 10 years. Do you really think it's gonna happen next year or so??
I mean this is something that is NOT destined to happen. If it was destined to pass, it would have passed as soon as it was introduced because it's a simple bill!!!

God damn it!!!!! hate this world

I'm 16, working on my degree and looking to enlist in the US Army after I get my bachelors. I will not stop fighting.

I respect your choice, and I will be leaving if the DREAM Act doesn't pass by the time I'm 22.

All I can tell you about Mexico is that it is a totally different way of living over there. I dont know you're specific situatuion, but if I was you, I would stay here. You're still young anyway; don't let your pride get the best of you. good luck.

Mmm, dessert...

Just want to comment that I left the US a month ago. I had several back-up plans up the ass, though. Leaving wasn't a split-second decision.

When you leave, make sure you have enough money to live on for a year, with enough to spare, in case you don't find a scholarship or a job. In my case, 4K USD was more than enough to cover my grad school tuition and living expenses for a year.

I was also lucky enough to have family in my country of origin, and they were all willing to help me out. Having family in your home country is a BIG advantage- if you can rely on them to help you out.

Also make sure that you've already been accepted by the universities that you want to attend before you leave the US.

In my opinion, the biggest problem that you'll encounter is the culture shock. Be prepared to be frustrated, annoyed, infuriated, and irritated by the people running and ruining your country of origin. Get a stress ball and don't kill anyone.

Good luck, and feel free to disregard this message.
