Aye.

For a big issue bill, each party is supposed to vote along party lines otherwise you're out of the super duper secret club. For small special interest issues like the DREAM Act (and yes, it is small -- it doesn't affect a single senator personally since they're not receiving any campaign donations from DREAMers and we're not their constituents) , each person votes how they really feel or how their actual voting constituents want them to vote.

so if this becomes a stand alone bill we should concentrate on their constituents.

I can see what you are saying through...it just brings our hopes up so we wouldn't leave and take our talents/educations elsewhere. It's like saying "we don't want you because of competition, but we don't want other country to have you either.". I just wish there was yes/no answers to this.

except that I just came back to the DAP ever since it was announced that the DA was going to be added to the defense bill and have not had the time to go around the places where you may have posted the flyers.

I do have to admit, they are very well arranged. Informative and succinct, nice work.

Your discouragement is well founded. Maybe you can take some comfort in Illegalthai’s words below.

“WHY would you want to live in third world country?!!!! i don’t get it
i know some third world countries are not that bad BUT you better here in U.S.
do u know that even you are dish washer waiter/ waitress in this country u still
make more money than engineer nurse in your country!!??!?!
AND to people who want to leave before they turn 18 so they can apply for student visa WHY wound u want to do that?!?!? do u know that STUDENT VISA IS not
equal to GREEN CARD GREEN CARD = path to u.s. citizen ship
STUDENT VISA = u must leave after u done with
your education
Remember u only live once I want a high standard of living for me
AND dream act will pass trust me”

The last line is cold comfort for those of you who have waited a many years with no certain end date in sight. You can believe Illegalthai is speaking from experience. And I can corroborate his words with what I have heard personally from people who lived in countries with large 3rd world populations. His English may not be perfect but the best immigration specialists/councilors whom I know give essentially the same advice which is, “no matter how bad it is here, it will be worse there”. Of course it depends on the country.
In any case, whatever you are planning, do not make any moves before Thanksgiving. Historically, amnesties occur around this time, so I’m told by my sources. Hope for the best!

Dream Act is a joke, and i am totally agree with. if i am congressman, i will change path of citizenship to the Student visa and shut the republicans mouth. why don't they just change it and allow us to change our status to student visa.
