The aim of this game is to post random non-fictitious facts. The most original, wacky, and downright random facts are bound to make it into the Hall of Fame.

Here's an example:

There are only four words in the English language which end in "dous": tremendous, horrendous, stupendous, and hazardous.

FACT NO. 2041

'The U.S. Army spent millions developing bat bombs for World War II.'

According to civilian nonprofit group the Air Force Association, the bat-bombing concept was given the go-ahead in 1942. Initial tests were unsuccessful because drowsy bats attached to dummy explosives failed to wake up and simply fell to their deaths. The following year, the project was passed to the Navy and renamed Project X-Ray, where it showed some promise, but was eventually canceled when it became apparent that the plan wouldn't be combat-ready until 1945. Dr. Lytle Adams, the originator of the idea, maintained that bat bombs would have been superior to the use of atomic weapons because the bats would disperse over many miles, causing substantial physical destruction with comparatively little loss of human life.

The DNA from all the cells in the human body would stretch to the sun and back 500 times. That is more than 45,000,000,000 miles of DNA!
